About me:
I started collecting toys when I was about 19. I went to a flea market and I found a toy similar to the ones I had as a child. It was a Mego type of karate figure. I bought it and started to think about the toys I had as a
kid, Mego's super hero figures. Shortly after I found a magazine called TOYSHOP and I started getting back some of my childhood toys that I had. My favorite Mego figures were the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman dolls from the TV show. Mego figures and dolls are still a big part of my collection today.

Since then I got into collecting other toys such as my favorite dolls Ideal's Comic Heroine Super Queen dolls. I first noticed them in Toyshop and wanted to know more about them and found out they are super rare and hard to complete but I'm gonna keep trying.

My JEM doll collection by Hasbro started with my nieces. I used to watch the cartoon with my nieces Yvonne and Selina and I really loved it myself. One Christmas I bought them a Pizzazz doll and Glitter and Gold Jem/Jerrica doll. I secretly really enjoyed playing with these dolls with them. I of course back then was just being a good uncle but really I was loving Jem and her adventures. When my nieces no longer were interested in JEM, I continued to love her and watch the show and slowly started to collect them all. I of course would keep it to myself back then. As you can see by the size of my collection of JEM dolls and anything JEM, I can't really do that anymore. How JEM collecting became my biggest collection, I don't really remember how that happened but it has and JEM is in my collection to stay. Jem reminds me of one of my favorite times in my youth. Playing with my nieces and our Jem dolls. I still have the dolls I bought for my nieces that Christmas. The early 90s was a great time for Jem collectors, I got tons of JEM stuff on clearance! Great memories there too.

Darci dolls by Kenner to me are connected to Jem. I first found a Darci doll at an antique store and she was nude and I searched the doll out as I could see she was very similar to Jem. I became more interested in Darci in the 90s when I was told by a Hasbro employee that JEM was modeled after Darci and some of her head molds are very similar and hard to deny they either were modeled after those molds or modified and used for Jem.

Other dolls such as the Guardian Goddesses by Mattel I loved just because they were female type of super heroes and these dolls remind me of She-Ra. They pre-date She-Ra though. I first seen these dolls in a collectors book that showcased all types of dolls. I can't remember what book it is now though. I wish I did.

Well that is how I came to own one of the biggest toy and doll collections around.

This picture is of me and my Godson Demetrio he is turning 4 soon and he loves all my superhero toys, especially anything to do with Batman. This picture was taken at a friends wedding in 2005.
