These dolls were made in 1967 by Ideal. The dolls clothes are tagged "Comic Heroines" but these dolls are known by most collectors as Super Queens. They were only produced for one year. There are only 4 basic dolls in the line. Batgirl (black hair), Supergirl (blonde hair), Wonder Woman (brown hair)  and Mera, Queen of Atlantis and Aquaman's wife (red hair).  There were 3 store exclusives to the line that added a dress or uniform to create the alter ego for the doll; the Sears exclusive Batgirl doll that had blonde hair, another Sears exclusive of Supergirl with platinum blonde hair and a Mongomery Wards exclusive Wonder Woman doll. This doll came with a nurse's outfit for her alter ego Diana Prince but had the same color brown hair as the regular doll. The exclusive Batgirl and Supergirl came with a halter dress and some exclusive Batgirl dolls came with the same dress as Tammy's Mom. The exclusive alter ego outfits/uniform for these dolls were also available as dresses for the Tammy doll family too.  I will try to show all the examples I've been able to collect of this line and have done pretty well completing these extremely rare dolls.

Comic Heroine Super Queen dolls use the same mold as Tammy doll's best friend Misty. They use the Posin' Misty doll bodies as well.  If you are looking to buy Comic Heroine Super Queens dolls be sure to be on the look out for custom Misty dolls that can be made to look like like these rare dolls. Misty dolls are similar to comic heroine dolls and I will show you the differences between them.  All Misty dolls have bangs, no Comic Heroine doll does. The hair is the biggest differences along with the lip color.

These dolls are of special interest to Captain Action Figure collectors.  Captain Action figures were made about the same time as Ideal Comic Heroine Super Queen dolls and are about the same height and they look great together.
